Maintenance… Whether you love it or hate it, you have to do it.
Change your oil, check your fluids, check your brakes, check your tire pressure and tread… If you are like me, these are all things you have heard from either your Dad, a friend, or a mechanic (I am lucky enough to have a brother that happens to be a mechanic J).
When it has to do with maintenance, your OnBase system is a lot like a car. You have to maintain it. Now, all of the car maintenance jargon may not directly translate to your OnBase system but I will do my best.
Car | OnBase |
Preventative (fluid levels, tires, brakes, etc.) | Check your verification reports |
Oil Change | Clear out document maintenance, document locks |
Replace Brakes | Restart all services/application pools |
Replace Tires | Upgrade to Current Version |
Replace Filters | Database Backups |
30K, 60K, 90K, 120K, etc. Maintenance | Create a document retention plan |
Car Insurance | Disaster Recovery |
If you take care of your car it will run forever, and the same goes with your OnBase system.
Whether you are handy or not, talking about your car or OnBase, you are probably saying to yourself, “I don’t have the time/knowledge to do these type of things.” That’s completely understandable and there are a ton of resources available to you.
Create a plan for your OnBase system and discuss it with us. We are here to make sure your system is running at its full potential today and well into the future!
